For example, if we humans were driving across the country and saw a traffic sign with a speed limit of 120 km/h at the entrance to a town, we would still slow down. We know that you are only allowed to drive a maximum of 50 km/h in built-up areas. Today’s AI systems lack this general knowledge, which we use everywhere.
It will be a very long time before they master new, unknown situations as easily as we humans do and make robust decisions despite great contextual uncertainty.
