Data collection on this website
How do we collect your data?
On the one hand, your data is collected by you providing it to us. This can be, for example, data that you enter in a contact form.
Other data is collected automatically or after your consent when you visit the website by our IT systems. This is mainly technical data (e.g. Internet browser, operating system or time of page view). This data is collected automatically as soon as you enter this website.
Some of the data is collected to ensure error-free provision of the website. Other data may be used to analyze your user behavior.
What rights do you have regarding your data?
You have the right at any time to receive information free of charge about the origin, recipient and purpose of your stored personal data. You also have a right to request the correction or deletion of this data. If you have given your consent to data processing, you can revoke this consent at any time for the future. You also have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data under certain circumstances.
Furthermore, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority.
For this purpose, as well as for further questions on the subject of data protection, you can contact us at any time.
Third-party analytics and tools
When visiting this website, your surfing behavior can be statistically evaluated. This is done primarily with so-called analysis programs.
On our website, you have the option of submitting inquiries via forms or by e-mail. All personal and other data transmitted in such requests will be used by us only for the processing of your request and treated confidentially. If you contact us via our contact form or by e-mail – the use of the contact form is optional for you – the personal data and information you enter in the form, as well as the date and time of sending, will be recorded and processed by us each time you send us a message. This processing is carried out for the purpose of handling your message. The legal basis for this processing results from Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR (balancing of interests). This results from the economic, idealistic and technical interest in the provision and use of a contemporary information medium. The recipients of the data are our employees and the IT service providers working for us.
In this context, we would like to point out that although our contact form is sent and received by us in encrypted form (TLS, SSL), this is only a so-called transport encryption. Therefore, neither the authenticity, nor the integrity, nor the confidentiality of a sent message can be guaranteed. Therefore, please do not send us any sensitive personal data via contact form.
We delete all data transmitted and accrued for the purpose of contacting us after storage is no longer necessary, or restrict processing if there are legal retention obligations for this.

We would like to point out that the USA is not a safe third country in the sense of EU data protection law. US companies are obliged to hand over personal data to security authorities without you as a data subject being able to take legal action against this.

Right to restriction of processing
You have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data. For this purpose, you can contact us at any time. The right to restriction of processing exists in the following cases:
If you dispute the accuracy of your personal data stored by us, we usually need time to verify this. For the duration of the review, you have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data.
If the processing of your personal data happened/is happening unlawfully, you can request the restriction of data processing instead of deletion.
If we no longer need your personal data, but you wish to use it to exercise,
defense or assertion of legal claims, you have the right to request restriction of the processing of your personal data instead of erasure.
If you have lodged an objection pursuant to Art. 21 (1) GDPR, a balancing of your and our interests must be carried out. As long as it has not yet been determined whose interests prevail, you have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data.
If you have restricted the processing of your personal data, this data may – apart from being stored – only be processed with your consent or for the assertion, exercise or defense of legal claims or for the protection of the rights of another natural or legal person or for reasons of an important public interest of the European Union or a Member State.
4. Data collection on this website
So-called cookies are used on this website. Cookies basically make it easier for the user to surf the Internet. A cookie is a small file that can be stored on your computer when you visit a website. Basically, cookies are stored to provide users with additional functions on our website.
You can give us full consent or make your own selection in this regard. You can revoke your consent at any time with effect for the future.
We use the following types of cookies, the scope and functionality of which are explained below. A distinction is made between cookies that are deleted as soon as you close your browser and cookies that are stored beyond the individual session:
- transient Cookies (siehe 4.1)
- persistent Cookies (siehe 4.2)
We use so-called session cookies (also called temporary or transient cookies) on our website. These session cookies are stored exclusively for the duration of your use of our website. The session cookies used by us serve exclusively to identify you as long as you are logged in on our website. After the end of each session, the session cookies are deleted. A storage of the session cookies beyond this does not take place.
Persistent cookies help our website to remember your data and settings when you visit it again later. We therefore use these cookies to identify you for subsequent visits if you have an account with us. Otherwise, you would have to log in again for each visit. Persistent cookies are automatically deleted after a specified time, which may differ depending on the cookie. You can delete the cookies in the security settings of your browser at any time.
You can configure your browser settings according to your preferences and for example, refuse to accept third-party cookies or all cookies. If you want to know more about this, please use the help function in your browser. We would like to point out that if you block or delete cookies, you may not be able to use all the functions of this website.
The Flash cookies used are not collected by your browser, but by your Flash plug-in. Furthermore, we use HTML5 storageobjects, which are stored on your end device. These objects store the required data independently of the browser you are using and have no automatic expiration date. If you do not want Flash cookies to be processed, you must install an appropriate add-on, such as BetterPrivacy for Mozilla Firefox or the Adobe Flash Killer Cookie for Google Chrome. You can prevent the use of HTML5 storage objects by using private mode in your browser. We also recommend that you manually delete your cookies and browser history on a regular basis.
Cookie consent with Borlabs cookie
Our website uses the cookie consent technology of Borlabs Cookie to obtain your consent to the storage of certain cookies in your browser and to document this in accordance with data protection law. The provider of this technology is Borlabs – Benjamin A. Bornschein, Rübenkamp 32, 22305 Hamburg (hereinafter Borlabs).

Server log files
The provider of the pages automatically collects and stores information in so-called server log files, which your browser automatically transmits to us. These are:
- browser type and version
- Operating system used
- referrer URL
- Host name of the accessing computer
- Time of the server request
- IP address
This data is not merged with other data sources. The collection of this data is based on Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in the technically error-free presentation and optimization of its website – for this purpose, the server log files must be collected.
5. Analysis tools and advertising
Matomo (formerly Piwik)
This website uses the open source web analytics service Matomo. Matomo uses technologies that enable cross-page recognition of the user to analyze user behavior (e.g. cookies or device fingerprinting). The information collected by Matomo about the use of this website is stored on our server. The IP address is anonymized before storage. With the help of Matomo, we are able to collect and analyze data about the use of our website by website visitors. This allows us to find out, among other things, when which page views were made and from which region they come. We also collect various log files (e.g. IP address, referrer, browsers and operating systems used) and can measure whether our website visitors perform certain actions (e.g. clicks, purchases, etc.).
The use of this analysis tool is based on Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in the anonymized analysis of user behavior in order to optimize both its website and its advertising. If a corresponding consent was requested (e.g. consent to store cookies), the processing is based exclusively on Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR; the consent can be revoked at any time.
We use IP anonymization for the analysis with Matomo. In this case, your IP address is shortened before analysis so that it can no longer be clearly assigned to you.
We host Matomo with the following third-party provider:
Mittwald CM Service GmbH & Co. KG
Königsberger Straße 4-6
(Commissioned by the agency Communication Consultants GmbH, Breitwiesenstraße 17, 70565 Stuttgart, Germany)
6. Plugins and tools
YouTube with enhanced privacy
This website embeds videos from YouTube. The operator of the pages is Google Ireland Limited (“Google”), Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.
We use YouTube in extended data protection mode. According to YouTube, this mode has the effect that YouTube does not store any information about visitors to this website before they watch the video. However, the transfer of data to YouTube partners is not necessarily excluded by the extended data protection mode. Thus, YouTube – regardless of whether you watch a video – establishes a connection to the Google DoubleClick network.
As soon as you start a YouTube video on this website, a connection to YouTube’s servers is established. This tells the YouTube server which of our pages you have visited.
If you are logged into your YouTube account, you enable YouTube to assign your surfing behavior directly to your personal profile. You can prevent this by logging out of your YouTube account.
Furthermore, YouTube can save various cookies on your end device after starting a video or use comparable recognition technologies (e.g. device fingerprinting). In this way, YouTube can obtain information about visitors to this website. This information is used, among other things, to collect video statistics, improve the user experience, and prevent fraud attempts.
If necessary, further data processing operations may be triggered after the start of a YouTube video, over which we have no control.
YouTube is used in the interest of an appealing presentation of our online offers.
This represents a legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR. If a corresponding consent has been requested, the processing is based exclusively on Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR; the consent can be revoked at any time.
